Outside the glitz and glamour of wearing gowns and super tall heels on stage, the Miss Universe contestants are real women who date.
As hard it is to believe that these beauty queens have to deal with the trials and tribulations of the dating world, when we spoke to the Latinas of the competition, they revealed that they actually do so. We asked them to tell us about their best or worst dates and they shared the oh-so-sweet stories but also the embarrassing ones; one contestant admitted to her date ending in an emergency date visit. Yikes! Check out their stories below:
“From every romantic experience I’ve had with my partner, I’ve had unique and different moments.” – Bolivia, Antonella Moscatelli
“When I entered his apartment, there were candles and several photos of us scattered on the floor with a delicious dinner and heart-shaped balloons.” – Brazil, Raissa Santana
“I have not had many but the few I’ve had, I will always remember them as the best moments of my life, I’m super romantic.” – Dominican Republic, Rosalba Abreu Garcia
“My best date would be on the beach; a beautiful evening barefoot drinking good wine and talking about dreams with someone very intelligent, patient, elegant and of great heart.” – Colombia, Andrea Tovar
“In the best date I’ve had, I cooked! I’m a bad cook hahaha, but I loved being able to interact and learn. I think those are the best dates, when you can know more about you and that special person.” – Ecuador, Connie Jiménez
“All have been good dates although in some of them what I expected didn’t happen but all of them resulted in good friendships and one even being my possible love.” – Honduras, SirSirey Morey Moran
“The best date was with my current boyfriend. He planned a dinner in a beautiful restaurant in the city. There was a table with petals and candles, which was under a terrace that made it more romantic. Entering the restaurant I assumed that I had a surprise since petals marked the route, that made me very nervous because I thought I was going to get proposed to, however he planned the date for our anniversary and I had forgotten (haha).” – Mexico, Kristal Silva
“I think the worst date was when I was allergic to the food and we ended up in the hospital haha.” – Paraguay, Andrea Melgarejo
“The best date is on the beach, where we can talk and laugh, see the sea and wait patiently for the best sunset in Peru.” – Peru, Valeria Piazza
“My best romantic date was in my country Puerto Rico where we were on the beach, then a delicious dinner and ended it with a movie in the cinema.” – Puerto Rico, Brenda Jimenez
“My best date was when I had a month with my boyfriend; it was my first date being that he’s my first boyfriend. It was a surprise, very delicate, full of flowers with dishes decorated with ‘Happy First Month.’” – Venezuela, Mariam Habach
“My best romantic date was for my 20th birthday, since my boyfriend prepared a wonderful surprise for me in a well-known restaurant in Guatemala City. The most important thing about this dinner was the part in which he expressed what he felt for me, highlighting how important I was in his life.” – Guatemala – Virginia Argueta
